Canyon View's Amanda Allen was named the Most Valuable Player in Region 9 3A girls soccer from the season that just concluded. Allen, a senior, paced all Region 9 players in either 3A or 4A with 20 goals as she led the Falcons to the 3A region championship and an appearance in the state quarterfinals. "Amanda's an amazing leader and she's the consummate team player," Canyon View head coach Mark Comstock said. Joining Allen on the first team are teammates Breanna Culler, Heather Kadera, Danielle Wynn and Hailey Drew. Also receiving first-team honors were Cedar's Kelci Little, Tiarrah Sims and Callie Kunz, Hurricane's Tia Bringhurst and Margot Klepeteko, and Desert Hills' Dayci Patterson and Kailee Kartchner. Named to the second team were Canyon View's Callie Condie, Alycia Robinson, Cassidee Holmes and Tausha Pittser. Cedar had Katie Bonebrake, Melissa Hansen and Lauren Denhalter, Hurricane added Caitlin Hall and Brittany Ward, and Desert Hills had Becca Larsen and Keilani Needham. On the 4A side, Snow Canyon's Kylie Moore was named the Region 9 MVP. Joining her on the first team were teammates Kayla Overfelt, Sarah Gunn, Tori Bergen, Liz Rick, and Rachel Laidlaw. Dixie's first-teamers were Jenna Brady, Chamea Palmer and Emily Misenner, and Pine View had Sadi Dias, Ashley Wade, Megan Church and Amber Kimzey on the first team. The 4A all-region second team consisted of Snow Canyon's Julie Andrus, Sara Russell, Michelle Wood and Jaycie Shotwell, Dixie's Mikkel Griffin, Trisha McArthur, Rachel Watts and Katie Albrecht, and Pine View's Kali Stubbs, Holly Krzmarzick, Julia Chipman and Sara Lee. |
