HURRICANE - Hurricane atoned for an earlier loss to Pine View, steamrolling the Panthers 71-47 Friday night in the Tiger Cage.

"Our guys wanted to avenge that," said Hurricane coach Gordon Dotson. "We didn't talk about it, but they remember what happened over there."
The Tiger win coupled with a Desert Hills loss at Cedar put the Tigers (6-2) a half-game ahead of the Thunder and Snow Canyon atop Region 9.
After building an 11-point advantage at the break, the Tigers iced the game by scoring on nine straight possessions in the third quarter.
"We talked about getting that extra pass in, and we did, and then we knocked down some big shots," said Hurricane's Jaden Seely, who scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half.
The Tigers outscored the Panthers 20-8 in that stretch. Seely and Anderson Rich scored eight and seven points, respectively, during the run.
"I said to Jaden, 'I want you to take over right now,' and he did," Dotson said.
Jacob Pugh shut down Pine View star Darren Powers for most of the night.
"It all starts with Darren Powers - that kid is a phenomenal player," Dotson said. "Jacob Pugh did an outstanding job on him to only hold him to three points for three quarters. I can't say enough about that defensive job. He's our defensive stud."
Powers didn't score until he hit a 3-pointer with four minutes left in the period.
Powers, however, heated up in the fourth, scoring six points against the Hurricane reserves as part of a 10-0 Pine View run.
The Tiger starters returned, but once Powers heated up, he wasn't about to cool down, hitting a 3-pointer and a jumper.
But Seely answered, hitting a three, a lay-up and a pair of free throws to break Pine View's momentum and return Hurricane to a 20-point advantage.
Hurricane pulled away in the first half by going on a 10-0 run to end the first quarter.
Pine View coach Darrell Larsen missed the game with a health-related issue. Former Panther star Ryan Eves coached the team in his absence.
"I think it hurt them not to have him," Dotson said. "Not to take anything away from the other coaches, but he brings a lot of energy to that team."
In a text message to The Spectrum, Larsen said he hopes to rejoin his team by Monday.
ENTERPRISE 48, PAROWAN 33: Kyle West drained four 3-pointers and scored 22 points as the Wolves picked up a big road victory at Parowan.
Ryan Jones added 13 points for Enterprise (6-0, 13-3). Josh Curtis led Parowan (3-3, 4-9) with 10 points.
MILLARD 70, CROSS CREEK 63: The Bobcats outscored the Eagles 21-19 in the third quarter, but were unable to catch the Eagles. Trevor Kindorf had 21 points to pace Cross Creek.
